The Indiana Pacers have taken one hot name off the trade market rumor mill as the NBA trade deadline approach, signing veteran big man Myles Turner to a two-year contract extension, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Turner’s agent, Austin Brown of CAA Sports, says that Turner’s new deal includes a $17.1 million renegotiation on Turner’s salary for the current season, and will have that amount added to the $18 million he’s already receiving in 2022-2023.
According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Turner’s yearly salaries will be about $35 million for the current season, approximately $21 million for 2023/24 and $20 million for the following season, giving the deal a total value of approximately $58 million in new money.
Turner is averaging career-highs with 17.5 points and 7.9 rebounds per game this season for the Pacers.
