Hawks’ Kevin Huerter Says Team Focused on Improving
Atlanta Hawks shooting guard Kevin Huerter knows that the team is on the rise, but says that they aren’t focused on making the playoffs, instead looking to make an improvement.
“Honestly, no,” Huerter said, according to Alex Kennedy of Hoops Hypewhen asked if the Hawks have talked about possibly making the playoffs.
“Playoffs, for us, isn’t really a word we talk about – all we talk about is winning more than 29 games. We know how honestly close we were last year – we weren’t too far off from that eighth seed – but we’re probably not going to talk about it for most of the year. It’s not something we talk about in the locker room, trying to sneak in [to the playoffs]. It’s literally just, “We’re going to win more than 29 games and continue to get better.” Then whatever happens, happens.”
While a playoff trip would certainly be exciting, the Hawks just want to trust the process of their development.

It is rumored that R.J. Barrett will be taken with the 3rd overall pick, assuming that both Zion Williamson and Ja Morant are both off the board.
The New Orleans Hornets are expected to take Williamson, while the Memphis Grizzlies are expected to take Ja Morant.
