The Brooklyn Nets will be renouncing the rights to free agent guard D’Angelo Russell which will make him an unrestricted free agent, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Brooklyn is expected to make the move once they officially sign Kyrie Irving once free agency opens on Sunday evening.

Russell is expected to draw significant interest from a number of teams once he hits the open market.

Nets Sign Theo Pinson to Two-Year Deal

The Brooklyn Nets have signed swingman Theo Pinson to a two-year deal, according to The Athletic’s Michael Scotto.

Pinson, who played for the North Carolina Tar Heels during his collegiate career, joined the Nets’ Summer League team after going undrafted in the 2018 NBA Draft.

Pinson signed a two-way contract with Brooklyn last season and split his time between the Nets and their G League affiliate, the Long Island Nets.

Nets Agree to Terms with DeAndre Jordan

The Brooklyn Nets are bringing in more than just Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving in free agency.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Nets have agreed to terms on a four-year, $40 million deal with center DeAndre Jordan.

Jordan, a close friend of Durant’s, isn’t the player he was when he was with the Los Angeles Clippers, but is still a solid piece to add to a team with the likes of Jarrett Allen and Chris LeVert, among others.

Jordan averaged 11.0 points and 13.1 rebounds per game for the Dallas Mavericks and New York Knicks last season.

The Brooklyn Nets and Kyrie Irving are motivated to get a deal done quickly as free agency officially kicks off this evening.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, both the Nets and Irving are motivated to finalize a four-year, $141 million deal on Sunday.

Irving, who has been connected to the Nets throughout the offseason, averaged 23.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game last season for the Boston Celtics.
