Celtics’ Al Horford Opts Out, Will Work New Deal

Boston Celtics forward Al Horford has opted out of his contract and will now turn his attention to working out a new contract with the Celtics, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Horford opts out of the remaining $30.1 million of his player option for the 2019-2020 season and will now become an unrestricted free agent.

Horford, 33, and the Celtics have a mutual interest to work out a new deal.

The Boston Celtics may have lost Kyrie Irving in free agency, but they will be bringing in Charlotte Hornets point guard Kemba Walker to take his place.

According to the Charlotte Observer’s Rick Bonnell, Walker has told the Hornets that he pans to signed with the Celtics once free agency kicks off.

According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Walker will ink a four-year, $141 million contract with Boston.

The Boston Celtics will renounce the right to guard Terry Rozier which will make him an unrestricted free agent, according to Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes.

Rozier is coming off a disappointing season in which he averaged 9.0 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game for the Boston Celtics.

Kyrie Irving Reportedly Closing In On Deal with Nets

Boston Celtics superstar guard and soon-to-be free agent may have his next destination all squared away.

According to the New York Post’s Brian Lewis, Irving is leaning toward signing a four-year, $141 million deal with the Brooklyn Nets, whom he has been linked to for the past few weeks.

Irving, who grew up in New Jersey, was a Nets fan growing up.

If the Nets do land Irving, it is expected that they will be in the running for Golden State Warriors’ superstar Kevin Durant.
