Golden State Warriors big man DeMarcus Cousins is discussing the “incredible moment” that took place during the Warriors Game 2 victory over the Toronto Raptors.

“It feels great,” Cousins said, according to Nick Friedell of ESPN. “I’ve leaned on my teammates throughout this moment and throughout this whole process, and this was an incredible moment for me. But I’m not satisfied, and I’m looking forward to Game 3.”

Cousins, who struggled in Game 1, finished Game 2 with 11 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists in 28 minutes.

“I want to be on this stage,” Cousins said. “This is what I’ve worked for my entire career, to be on this stage, to have this opportunity to play for something.”

However, it appears that landing Russell is a part of a bigger plan.

According to the New York Times’ Marc Stein, Russell will likely be traded by the Warriors.

“D’Angelo Russell doesn’t fit there whatsoever,” Stein said (h/t Bleacher Report). “They just wanted to make sure they did not see Kevin Durant, arguably the best player in the league when healthy, walk out the door for nothing. They got a 23-year-old All-Star, and they will trade him. It’s just a matter of when.”

It is expected that Russell will be traded next summer.

Shaun Livingston

The Golden State Warriors are expected to negotiate a buyout with veteran guard Shaun Livingston, according to The Mercury News’ Mark Medina.

Livingston has $2 million of his $7.7 million guaranteed on his contract for next season, and has hinted at retirement as well.

If Livingston is on the Warriors’ roster past June 30th, he will be owed $7.7 million, so all signs point to a buy out being worked out.
