The recent play of Denver Nuggets veteran forward Paul Millsap has certainly caught the attention of head coach Mike Malone.
Millsap, 34, has been putting up some solid point production over the past few games, all wins for the Nuggets.
“Paul found the fountain of youth or something,” Malone said of Millsap, according to Brendan Vogt of SB Nation. “I don’t know if he’s 100 percent but he looks really good out there and he looks comfortable.”
The Nuggets have quietly put together one of the more impressive seasons of the year, and sit among the Western Conference elites.
Nuggets’ Paul Millsap Praises Nikola Jokic’s Development
Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic continues to impress with his play and his continuing development, and it has not been lost on the league and his teammates.
Nuggets veteran forward Paul Millsap has seen the improvement in Jokic’s game, notably when the game is winding down to it’s final minutes.
“He’s a completely different player than he was last year especially in the fourth quarter with two minutes to go,” Millsap said of Jokic, according to Christian Clark of BSN Denver.
“He wants the ball. He wants to make the play.”
Jokic is again showing improvement this season, averaging 20.7 points (career high), 10.7 (ties career high) rebounds, and 7.7 assists (career high) per game for Denver.
Nuggets’ Gary Harris Could Be Out Through All-Star Break
According to the Denver Post’s Sean Keeler, Harris may be held out even longer with head coach Mike Malone saying he may be out until after the All-Star break.
“Knowing that no one has said, ‘He’s out until after the all-star break,’ but I mean — in my mind, I’m thinking that it’s probably the most prudent decision to make,” Malone said.
“You (think), ‘Hey, let’s rush him back for Miami,’ and then …”
Nuggets Waive Nick Young
After playing in just 4 games following signing with the team, Nick Young has been waived by the Denver Nuggets.
The 33-year old Young scored only 9 in just 38 minuted of action during his stint with the Nuggets.
“We want to thank Nick for coming to Denver on such short notice to give us some relief with our injury issues,” Nuggets’ general manager Tim Connelly said in a statement.
“He immediately fit in with our group and did everything that was asked of him by being the great teammate and consummate pro he is.”
