Warriors’ DeMarcus Cousins Feeling Comfortable with Team

Published

on

Golden State Warriors’ big man DeMarcus Cousins is feeling good as he is hitting his stride with his new team this season, so much so that he is saying that he is finally in his “happy place”.

“I’m just being myself,” Cousins said, according to The Athletic’s Tim Kawakami.

“It’s fun to win, it’s fun to play for something, it’s fun to play the right way on a nightly basis. I’ve got no complaints. … Me being back on the floor, this is my happy place, man. Just happy to be back.

“And the scary part about it: we’ve still got so much more room to grow.”

Cousins is averaging 13.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game for Golden State this season.

Warriors’ Andrew Bogut Responds to Joel Embiid Dig, Says He is Returning to Sydney Next Season

Published

on

Golden State Warriors big man Andrew Bogut’s current stint with the team will be a short one, as he stated his plans to return to Sydney, Australia next season, while responding to a recent dig from Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid.

Embiid made a joke at the Warriors expense during a recent post-game presser, and it wasn’t unnoticed by Bogut.

“Joel Embiid saying the 76ers don’t want to do what we did in the 2016 Finals is just Joel being Joel – he’s a bit of a larrikin,” Bogut stated, via Yahoo Sports Australia. “But they have to get to a Finals series first before they can even think about doing that.

“It’s been a funny talking point for a lot of people in the league. But we haven’t taken any notice of it and it’s not something that’s been mentioned in the locker room.”

While Bogut has proven he is still a solid NBA contributor at this stage of his career while filing in for the injured DeMarcus Cousins at center, he doesn’t want to undergo another 82-game NBA season.

“It doesn’t really sit well with me when people say I need to prove that I can still play in the NBA. I know I can,” Bogut wrote. “Coming back to the NBL was great for myself, my body and my family. I just don’t really want to get involved in the grueling 82-game NBA season from September until June any more.

I feel like I need to be at home more in the next few years, especially with two young kids. Coming to the NBA for a few months is very doable with the kids, but a full 10-month season isn’t something that I want to do.

I know I can still play in the league but it’s not something I’m looking to do long term. I’m very happy in Sydney and I think we’re doing something pretty special there.”
