Cavs’ Tristan Thompson Discusses Trade Possibility

With the NBA Trade Deadline around the corner, the rumor mill is heating up and a number of names are being tossed around as potential players that could be moved to a new team.

One of the names that could be on the move is Cleveland Cavaliers veteran forward Tristan Thompson.

Thompson is understanding that it’s a business, and that anything can happen, including the possibility that he could be sent to a new team at the deadline.

“Blake Griffin got traded,” Thompson said , according to Joe Vardon of The Athletic.

“At the end of the day, if the trade is right and the pieces are guys they feel can help the franchise moving forward, I’m totally understanding. It’s a business. If you don’t have a no-trade clause, anything can happen.”

Cavs’ John Henson to Miss 2-4 Weeks

Cleveland Cavaliers center John Henson will miss the next two-to-four weeks due to a strained right hamstring he suffered during the Cas home-opener, according to an official press release.

Henson, 28, has been hit with a rash of injuries this year. Henson underwent surgery on his wrist last season, and suffered groin and ankle injuries during the preseason as well.

Henson will not travel with the team to Milwaukee and will instead begin a period of treatment and rehabilitation

The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Toronto Raptors are interested in former Phoenix Suns forward Dragan Bender.

Bender was a major bust with the Suns, who drafted him with the fourth overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, but he is still only 21 years old.

Bender can still turn his career around, but he has issues with 3 point shooting and the physicality of the NBA game.

Cavs Expected to Waive and Stretch J.R. Smith

The Cleveland Cavaliers are expected to waive guard J.R. Smith after failing to find a suitable trade, according to The Athletic’s Joe Vardon.

According to Cleveland.com’s Chris Fedor, the Cavs plan to stretch his contract over the next three years.

Smith played in only 11 games during the 2018-19 season as the Cavs veered towards a youth movement.
