Golden State Warriors center DeMarcus Cousins is discussing the difficulat road to recovery he has faced as he has battled back from the Achilles injury he suffered late last season while playing for the New Orleans Pelicans.
“It’s really tested me as a person, as a man, as an athlete” Cousins said, according to Logan Murdock The Mercury News. I’ve had a lot of dark days, a lot of good days. I’ve questioned myself a lot but I’ve found a way to overcome all those bad feelings so I see the light at the end of the tunnel.”
Cousins is currently practicing with the team and is inching closer to a return to the court, where he will make his official debut with Golden State.
Warriors’ DeMarcus Cousins Suffer Torn Quad
The Golden State Warriors will be without center DeMarcus Cousins likely for the rest of the season after the big man was diagnosed with a torn left quad after undergoing an MRI on Tuesday morning, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
Cousins suffered the injury during the first quarter of Game 2, a game the Warriors lost due to a furious, 31-point comeback by the Los Angeles Clippers.

Warriors’ Steph Curry Confident Team Can Bounce Back
Following an epic 31-point comeback victory for the Los Angeles Clippers, in Oakland, which shocked the Golden State Warriors, who completely collapsed down the stretch, Warriors guard Steph Curry is still in shock.
“If I had the answer for it, a night like tonight wouldn’t happen,” Curry said, according to Marcus Thompson II of The Athletic. “This game is tough, it’s hard to win playoff games no matter what the matchup is, no matter what the history is, the regular season, team versus team. It’s tough.
“For six-and-a-half quarters we played amazing, had a 31-point lead. The wheels fell off. I know we can get it back. We’ve got to put together 48 minutes of it, just a collective energy, positivity around everything we do.”
While it was somber in the locker room following defeat, Curry knows that it’s time for the team to respond.
“The locker room was down, as it should be, because every game matters to us,” said Curry. “We’ve just got to bounce back.”
Warriors’ Kevin Durant Yet to Make Free Agency Decision
With the Golden State Warriors battling it out in the Western Conference Playoffs, their star forward, Kevin Durant, isn’t thinking ahead to the offseason, a critical point in his career and for the Warriors’ franchise.
According to The Undefeated’s Marc J. Spears, Durant hasn’t made a decision regarding free agency and is urging fans to focus on the playoffs, not his future with the team.
“Just watch the game. Just focus on the game and stop nitpicking, because it is a beautiful game going on out there,” Durant said. “What can I do right now? I can’t sign a paper. I got to do the most important thing, and that is play. And that is what we should be focusing on.
“I know it’s the sexy part of the NBA: free agency, trades, transactions. But it’s a beautiful game that we’re out here playing. I feel like I play a different and unique way that may inspire some people.”
“If I already made a decision, it would take away from the team, what we’re fighting for. Every play would be overshadowed by it,” Durant continued. “It is not necessary for me to make a decision right now. It would be bad to do that. It would take the focus off of what is important. I would never want to put my teammates in a messed-up position. I want to forget about it.”
