Bulls Fire Fred Hoiberg

The Chicago Bulls have fired head coach Fred Hoiberg, the team announced on Monday in an official press release.

Associate head coach Jim Boylen will assume head coaching duties in the wake of Hoiberg’s firing.

“Decisions like this one are never easy to make, however I felt this was the right choice for our organization at this time,” executive VP of basketball operations John Paxson said. “After a thorough evaluation, I elected to make this move with the overall development of our team in mind. As a team, I believe it is imperative that we make unfaltering strides in the right direction and build the right habits to help put our players in the best position to evolve not only now, but into the future.”

Chris Fleming Joining Bulls’ Staff

Brooklyn Nets assistant coach Chris Felming will be leaving the organization to join the Chicago Bulls as the top assistant to head coach Jim Boylen, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Fleming joined the Nets staff back in 2016 when head coach Kenny Atkinson took the helm.

Fleming also served as an assistant with the Denver Nuggets back in the 2015-2016 season.

With the trade deadline looking, and numerous rumors connecting the Los Angeles Lakers to being buyers at the deadline, Lakers’ guard Lonzo Ball is preparing for a potential move.

The Lakers are tied to New Orleans Pelicans’ superstar Anthony Davis, but seem the Pelicans may opt to take their time in dealing the superstar big man.

Lakers guard Lonzo Ball is one name that has been linked to trades, and he has his own list of preferred destinations.

According to the Los Angeles Times’ Tania Ganguli, Ball would prefer to end up with the New York Knicks or the Chicago Bulls, should either team be a 3rd team involved in a potential Davis trade.

New Orleans currently has Elfrid Payton running the point, but could make Ball a building block should they acquire him.

Clippers Interested in Bulls’ Robin Lopez

As the NBA trade season starts to rev up, rumors are starting to gain momentum and many have a few pieces from the Chicago Bulls on the move.

According to The Athletic’s Jovan Buha, the Los Angeles Clippers had expressed interest in Chicago Bulls veteran big man Robin Lopez, although “talks did not advance.”

Lopez is averaging 5.9 points and 2.9 rebounds per game this season for the Bulls.
