According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the new deal will add 2 additional seasons on to this season, which will keep Malone, who has been key in helping the development of the team’s young talent, at the helm of the Nuggets until 2021.
“I never had any doubt that this would get done,” said Malone, according to Chris Dempsey of Altitude Sports. “My conversations and relationship with Tim (Connelly) and Josh (Kroenke) throughout the summer have been nothing but positive.
“All along, I felt that something would get done at some point. When? I wasn’t sure. But I did have a great feeling because of my relationship and my communication with Tim and Josh and Josh’s family.”
Nuggets Waive Nick Young
After playing in just 4 games following signing with the team, Nick Young has been waived by the Denver Nuggets.
The 33-year old Young scored only 9 in just 38 minuted of action during his stint with the Nuggets.
“We want to thank Nick for coming to Denver on such short notice to give us some relief with our injury issues,” Nuggets’ general manager Tim Connelly said in a statement.
“He immediately fit in with our group and did everything that was asked of him by being the great teammate and consummate pro he is.”
Nuggets’ Gary Harris Set for MRI
The Denver Nuggets will be holding out hope that the injury that Gary Harris suffered, and forced him to leave Monday’s game against the Toronto Raptors, isn’t a serious injury that will cause him to be sidelined for a long time.
Harris left the court after nine minutes of play in the first quarter of Monday night’s surprise win over Toronto, is scheduled to undergo an MRI to determine the extent of his injury.

“The one thing I feel awful about is Gary Harris,” Nuggets coach Mike Malone said following the game, according to ESPN’s Tim Bontemps. “Definitely keep Gary in our thoughts.
“He’s frustrated, just getting back from an injury, and to have that [and] not be able to come back in tonight. We’ll see how severe the injury is, and hopefully we can get him back really soon. But Gary’s such a big part of what we’re trying to do. Big loss.”
Nuggets Exercise Options on Jamal Murray, Juan Hernangomez
