David West Announces Retirement

After 15 seasons in the NBA, David West has officially announced his retirement.

West was drafted back in 2003 by the New Orleans Hornets, where he would spend the first 8 seasons of his career. Following his run with the Hornets, West would head over to the Indiana Pacers for 4 seasons, then the San Antonio Spurs for a season, before spending the final 2 seasons with the Golden State Warriors where he won two NBA championships.

West is the Hornets’ franchise leader clocking in 530 games played and 17,160 minutes played.

Warriors’ DeMarcus Cousins Feeling Comfortable with Team

Golden State Warriors’ big man DeMarcus Cousins is feeling good as he is hitting his stride with his new team this season, so much so that he is saying that he is finally in his “happy place”.

“I’m just being myself,” Cousins said, according to The Athletic’s Tim Kawakami.

“It’s fun to win, it’s fun to play for something, it’s fun to play the right way on a nightly basis. I’ve got no complaints. … Me being back on the floor, this is my happy place, man. Just happy to be back.

“And the scary part about it: we’ve still got so much more room to grow.”

Cousins is averaging 13.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game for Golden State this season.

Rockets’ James Harden Prefers to Play in a System Versus Hero Ball

Houston Rockets superstar James Harden has been having a phenomenal season offensively, but many people aren’t a fan of his “hero ball” style of play to rack up the stats.

Golden State Warriors’ guard Steph Curry said that he spoke with Harden, and that Harden stated his preference to play in a system, rather than play “hero ball”.

Knicks’ Wesley Matthews Generating Interest from ‘Multiple Teams’

New York Knicks veteran swingman Wesley Matthews may be on limited time with the Knicks as he is generating interest from a number of teams.

According to the New York Post’s Marc Berman, the Knicks have received
“multiple inquiries” about Matthews, with the Philadelphia 76ers expected to have interest as well.

Per the report, the Houston Rockets, Toronto Raptors, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Golden State Warriors are hoping that the Knicks buyout Matthews so he can hit the free agency market.
