Magic Closing In On Deal With Isaiah Thomas

The Orlando Magic are closing in on a deal with free agent guard Isaiah Thomas, according to sources.

Thomas is a year removed from playing lights out for the Boston Celtics, and finishing fifth in the voting for the NBA’s Most Valuable Player award, but suffered a hip injury that has prevented him from that level of play since.

Thomas was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers as part of the Kyrie Irving deal, didn’t make his regular-season debut until January due to a hip injury, was eventually traded to the Los Angeles Lakers and underwent season-ending surgery on his hip in March.

It is likely that the Magic will sign Thomas to a short-term deal, given concerns over his health.

Bullock originally agreed to a two-year, $21 million deal with the team with an option for the second year, but the terms were re-worked due to a medical issue
