The Sacramento Kings may have interest in Milwaukee Bucks restricted free agent Jabari Parker, who has fallen out of favor with the organization and seems likely to be finding a new team this summer, according to NBC Sports California’s James Ham.
While the Kings do have an interest in Parker, the price will have to be right for them to make a move.
While Parker is enticing due to his age and potential, injuries and struggles will make teams, such as the Kings, weary of making a long-term, big financial commitment to him.
Bucks Waive Jodie Meeks
The Milwaukee Bucks are waiving guard Jodie Meeks in order to maintain the 15 player roster limit, according to ESPN Adrian Wojnarowski.
Meeks had been serving his NBA suspension, which allowed the Bucks to keep him on their roster without Meeks counting towards a roster spot. But, with his suspension ending, Meeks would have taken up a spot, and the Bucks decided to let him go.
Meeks is a 9 year veteran and will now hit the free agent market.
Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo Says Team’s Slow Starts Need to be Fixed
The Milwaukee Bucks have started off the 2018-2019 season strong, and leading the Central Division standings, but franchise cornerstone Giannis Antetokounmpo says that the team’s slow starts to games needs to be addressed moving forward.
“We definitely need to fix it,” Antetokounmpo said, according to ESPN.
“We have to do a better job trying to set the tone. I think we did a better job this game, but we can do a lot better. But talent always saves us. I feel like we’re so talented that when were down 10, down 15, we can always get back in the game. But we know that down the road, that is not going to help us. We have to be able to set the tone and have control of the full game.”
The concern is shared by the Bucks coaching staff as well.
“I don’t want to overreact,” Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer said. “In a perfect world, you’d be great for all four quarters. That is kind of our goal, our mission, to play better for more of the 48 minutes than our opponent.”
Bucks Waive Shabazz Muhammad
The Milwaukee Bucks have waived veteran swingman Shabazz Muhammad, according to an official team announcement.
Muhammad joined the Bucks last season following the finalization of his buyout from the Minnesota Timberwolves, playing in just 11 games with Milwaukee to close out the regular season and averaging 8.5 ppg during that span.
Muhammad will become an unrestricted free agent if he goes unclaimed on waivers on Saturday
