Hornets’ Kemba Walker Tired Of Missing The Playoffs

Published

on

The Charlotte Hornets again have failed in their quest to earn a berth in the Eastern Conference Playoffs, despite another stellar season from All-Star guard Kemba Walker.

Walker, who has been the subject of trade rumors earlier in the year, spoke candidly about his disappointment with another lost season.

“At this point, I want to win. I want to be in the playoffs,” Walker said, according to Rick Bonnell of The Charlotte Observer. “I’m tired of not being in the playoffs. … I hate watching them on TV.”

“I’ve been there twice in seven years, and it’s just not fun (missing out).”

Walker’s deal is set to expire after next season, so, the Hornets have some work to do if they want to keep Walker in the fold, including building a winning team around him.

Walker, at this time, would like to stay in Charlotte.

“Hopefully, I’ll be here for a long time,” Walker stated. “I’ve always felt like I’m a winning player. Like I deserved it to be in the playoffs – to be battling. That’s what it will be all about in the future.”

“Whenever we get a new GM, we’ll see what direction he wants to go,” Walker said, “and I’ll make the best decision for me.”
