Cavs, Clippers Discussing DeAndre Jordan Trade

The Cleveland Cavaliers remain in talks with the Los Angeles Clippers regarding a trade involving center DeAndre Jordan as the NBA trade deadline approaches, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Per the report, the teams have had conversations with other teams who would act as a 3rd team to help a deal go through.

The Cavs are considering Jordan as their “number one target”, according to Yahoo Sports’ Shams Charania.

Jordan is averaging 11.5 points, 14.9 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game this season.

Cavs’ Tristan Thompson Out 2-4 Weeks

The Cleveland Cavaliers will be without center Tristan Thompson for two-to-four weeks with a sprained left foot, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Thompson exited Monday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks during the third quarter after he landed awkwardly on the foot of Bucks’ guard Malcolm Brogdon.

Thompson, 27, is averaging 12 points and 11.6 rebounds per game this season for Cleveland.

Cavs’ Kevin Love Targeting January Return

Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love could make his way back to the court for action in mid-January, according to Joe Vardon of The Athletic.

Love underwent surgery on his injured toe at the beginning of November and he was initially projected to be available to return around Christmas, but now his projected timetable of return seems to be the middle of January.

With one of the worst records in the NBA, Cleveland can afford to take their time with Love and bring him back slowly.

Cavs’ Kevin Love Talks About Bigger Purpose in Life, Other Than Basketball

Cleveland Cavaliers veteran forward Kevin Love believes that his life has a greater purpose beyond being a productive and successful player in the National Basketball Association and is embracing his role as the league’s unofficial ambassador on mental health.

“I feel like I have a purpose, for the greater good,” Love said, according to The Athletic’s Joe Vardon. “For the first 10 years, for better or worse, that’s what I felt like for basketball. Learning what I needed to learn. Now I’m just starting to work on myself off the court. That’s going to lead to helping people and paying it forward. I think it is good to be busier when you’re working, putting the same time into things that are super valuable.”
