The Dallas Mavericks are aiming to be major sellers as the NBA trade deadline approaches and apparently the entire roster sans 3 players, are available for the taking, according to Eddie Sefko of The Dallas Morning News

Those 3 players happen to be Dirk Nowitzki, Dennis Smith Jr and Harrison Barnes. Absolutely no surprises there and there is no surprise that players such as Nerlens Noel are being shopped.

Per Sefko’s report, Cuban, who is loyal to his players, is looking to make a move to improve the Mavericks future.

“Winning is always the foundation to loyalty,” Cuban said.

“Every player knows what the goal of our organization is — to win championships. Unfortunately, that means trading or releasing players we really care about. [And] it’s very hard to make decisions on what to do or not to do.”

“I played professionally with a lot of good European players. So, yeah,” Doncic said of his transition to the NBA, according to Michael Lee of The Athletic.

“It’s just basketball. I want to enjoy it. I think I’ve played better than expected. I’m happy about it, but this keeps going.”

Mavs’ Gauging Interest In Dennis Smith Jr.

The Dallas Mavericks are reportedly shopping point guard Dennis Smith Jr., according to the New York Times’ Marc Stein.

Smith has fallen out of the mix in Dallas due to his injury history and the emergence of rookie Luka Doncic this season.

Smith, 21, has a promising rookie season, in which he posted 15.2 PPG and 5.2 APG for Dallas in 69 games for the Mavericks.

Smith has been limited to only 3 games in Decembers due to a wrist injury.

Per Stein’s report, the Mavericks are “at least gauging [the] market” for Smith and are “plotting” to build their roster around Doncic.
