Grizzlies’ Marc Gasol Could Ask For Trade If Losing Continues

Published

on

The Memphis Grizzlies may have a trade request coming their way should their struggles this season continue.

Yahoo! Sports insider Michael Lee believes that if the Grizzlies continue to lose, then All-Star big man Marc Gasol will want a way out of town, via trade.

“I think he could resurface [in trade rumors]” Lee said during an appearance on the HoopsHype Podcast.

“As they continue to lose, Marc Gasol isn’t going to be happy. As the deadline gets closer, he may go ahead and tell the organization to go ahead and get something for him.

If you’re the Memphis Grizzlies, I think you really have to look at your future and realize that if you want to go anywhere, moving Gasol is probably the best way to get started. They have to do what’s best for the organization and I think Marc Gasol would be very open to go to a situation where he can win, especially if things have already dried up in Memphis.”

Gasol would be an attractive trade piece and can help Memphis accelerate a much needed rebuild.

Grizzlies’ Justin Holiday Now Feeling Comfortable with New Team

Published

Memphis Grizzlies wing Justin Holiday has overcome some initial struggles with his new team following a trade from the Chicago Bulls back in January, and is feeling more comfortable.

Holiday has showed it on the court, with an improved play of late, and has become a key component of the Grizzlies’ rotation.

“You want to come in and do well and help the team,” Holiday said, according to Omari Sankofa II of The Athletic.

“That was the biggest thing for me, and feeling like you’re being a burden at times, which, it is what it is, but that was the hardest thing for me. Not playing at the level I normally do. But understanding that it comes with being traded. I just knew it was going to take time so it was just being patient and allowing myself to understand what we want to do here and allow myself to be helped.”

Holiday’s number in February tell the story, as he is averaging 12.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game this month.

“If I know the ins and outs of everyone’s position, where they’re supposed to be, that’s the player I am,” Holiday said. “I know everybody’s position in a play. So now I’m getting to the point where I know that and now I’m comfortable. If I know everything that’s going on, I’m good.”
