Hornets’ Cody Zeller Out Indefinitely

Charlotte Hornets center Cody Zeller is out indefinitely after he tore the medial meniscus in his left knee, according to an announcement from the team on Thursday.

Zeller was injured in the third quarter of Wednesday’s game against the Golden State Warriors.

The Hornets stated that Zeller will review all of his treatment options.

Zeller is averaging 7.2 points and 5.5 rebounds per game this season.

Hornets Sign Jalen McDaniels

The Charlotte Hornets have signed second-round draft pick Jalen McDaniels to a contract, according to an official team press release.

The McDaniel signings comes off the heels of the team releasing Thomas Welsh, which created the necessary roster spot of the addition of McDaniels.

McDaniels averaged 15.9 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists last season for San Diego State.

Hornets Release Thomas Welsh

The Charlotte Hornets have released veteran big man Thomas Welsh, according to the Charlotte Observer’s Rick Bonnell.

Welsh spent his rookie season on a two-way contract with the Denver Nuggets, but was waived in July.

The Hornets picked him up shortly thereafter, but he now becomes an unrestricted free agent if he successfully clears waivers.

Hornets’ PJ Washington Medically Cleared

Charlotte Hornets rookie PJ Washington has been medically cleared to do pretty much everything on the court, good news for the 21-year old and the Hornets.

“I’m pretty much cleared to do everything,” Washington said, according to Rck Bonnell of the Charlotte News Observer . “After summer league, it was about two weeks.”

“Pretty much everything: Finishing, shooting, pick-and-roll, pick-and-pop,” Washington reiterated. “All the reads.”

Washington had been recovering from ongoing pain in his left foot, which prevented him from participating in the 2019 Summer League.

Now, it’s all systems go for Washington.
