Heat’s Hassan Whiteside Feels He Could Miss More Games

Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside is concerned about his left knee injury fearing that it could keep him out of action even longer after missing Wednesday’s game against the New York Knicks.

“It’s really bothering me,” Whiteside told reporters after the loss (h/t ESPN).

“It has really been bothering me throughout the season,” Whiteside said. “You know, I sat out, I missed them games, I came back, and it’s still bothering me.”

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra told reporters that Whiteside had been sore for a few weeks, using the day after games to rest.

Spoelstra said that Whiteside would be evaluated Thursday stating that he didn’t believe an MRI would be necessary since Whiteside has already had one.

“So this is just part of the process. We anticipated this,” Spoelstra explained. “Hasn’t gotten any worse necessarily, just the schedule hasn’t let up, and he really hasn’t been able to do two days of work in a row for a while.”
