Clippers Open To Trading DeAndre Jordan

Published

on

The Los Angeles Clippers may have been forced into a complete rebuild after the loss of forward Blake Griffin to an MCL sprain.

According to David Aldridge of NBA.com, “the Clippers have put feelers out to a handful of teams” on Jordan.

Jordan has caught wind of the trade rumors saying that “It’s humbling,” according to Bleacher Report’s Eric Pincus. “It shows that other people want you and that you have value.”

Jordan could find himself at the center of trade talks with teams such as the Phoenix Suns, Milwaukee Bucks and the Dallas Mavericks among other likely suitors.

The Suns have had interest in Jordan in the past and are looking to move Greg Monroe and/or Tyson Chandler ahead of the deadline.

With Alex Len not exactly setting the world on fire with his play, Phoenix could upgrade their frontcourt with the addition of Jordan.

Dallas has been in the mix to land Jordan in the past. In fact they did before they lost him in a bizarre story that left a sour taste in the mouths of all parties involved.

With Nerlens Noel not impressing his team, Jordan could be brought in the fold to solidify a Dallas frontcourt.

The Bucks have had some challenges on the defensive side of the court and Jordan would instantly give that side of the ball a much needed boost.

Plus, the thought of a front court with both Jordan and the Greek Freak at the helm is a scary thought for any team in the NBA.

It will come down to price for the Bucks and what the Clippers would be willing to take in return in any Jordan trade.

Don’t count out the Cavaliers either as Cleveland.com’s Joe Vardon reported a league source believes that the team would be open to a Tristan Thompson-DeAndre Jordan swap.

Dragan Bender

The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Toronto Raptors are interested in former Phoenix Suns forward Dragan Bender.

Bender was a major bust with the Suns, who drafted him with the fourth overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, but he is still only 21 years old.

Bender can still turn his career around, but he has issues with 3 point shooting and the physicality of the NBA game.

The Cleveland Cavaliers knew that when they acquired Brandon Knight in a trade deadline deal with the Houston Rockets, that they were acquiring a player that may be a ways away from returning to form.

Knight, who missed the entire 2017-2018 season and appeared in only 14 games this season due to a torn ACL, has been showing signs of a return to form in his short stint with the Cavs, and it has caught the attention of Cavaliers’ head coach Larry Drew.

“I know what he’s gone through over a period with the injury and trying to come back from it,” Drew said of Knight, according to Joe Vardon of The Athletic.

“I know what he’s capable of doing. I know what type of player he is. He’s a fierce competitor. Not only does he do it from an offensive end, but defensively, he’s a tough kid. That addition in our lineup gives us a little versatility as far as we can move people around. … And I know how bad he wants to get back to the Brandon Knight of old. Certainly if he can get back to that, you guys are going to see a terrific player.”
