Cavs’ JR Smith On Boston Celtics: ‘I Don’t Think They Really Pose a Big Threat to Us”

Published

The Boston Celtics may have been the most talked about team in the Eastern Conference in a summer that saw them land Kyrie Irving, Jayson Tatum and Gordon Hayward among others.

The Eastern Conference, for the past few years, had been dominated by the Cleveland Cavaliers and although the Celtics have amped up their roster, some players on the Cavs believe it really won’t matter in the end.

Cavs guard JR Smith doesn’t believe the Celtics will knock them off their Eastern Conference throne.

“I don’t think they really pose a big threat to us,” Smith told reporters on Monday, according to Ben Axlerod of WKYC.

Smith’s confidence is understandable but the Cavs would be wise not to underestimate a rising Eastern Conference powerhouse such as Boston.
