The tenure of Dallas Mavericks’ center Nerlens Noel has been a checkered one and many thought he would be shipped out of Dallas at the the trade deadline, but, Nerlens remains a Mav.
Apparently, despite the thinking that Noel has worn out his welcome in Dallas, the Mavs are not planning to buy out Noel, according to the New York Times’ Marc Stein.
“The Mavericks have no current plans to buy out big man Nerlens Noel, according to league sources. To the contrary, Dallas is hopeful it can get Noel back on the floor after the All-Star break and make another run at establishing a role for him.”
Noel has only appeared in 18 games this season and is averaging a low 12.5 minutes per game. Noel is currently recovering from right thumb surgery and there is thinking that he will return to the team after the All-Star break should he be healthy.
