Wolves Willing to Trade Jimmy Butler Anywhere But Houston

Published

The Minnesota Timberwolves are willing to trade disgruntled superstar Jimmy Butler, and will trade him to any team except for the Houston Rockets, according to the New York Times’ Marc Stein.

Per Stein’s report:

The Wolves, in short, want to trade Butler pretty much anywhere but Houston. But if the Rockets’ offer between now and then is indeed the best offer that surfaces, Minnesota would be foolish to just dismiss it.

Had the Rockets included either Eric Gordon or P.J. Tucker along with those four future first-round picks in their most recent offer, we might have already seen a deal. But Houston is clearly trying to make this trade happen without giving up either one of those players.

When it comes to anyone messing with his teammates, Los Angeles Clippers forward Montrezl Harrell isn’t playing around, and he wasn’t going to stand for Minnesota Timberwolves guard Derrick Rose approaching Milos Teodosic after some chippy play during Monday night’s game.

“I’m the type of player who sticks up for his teammates,” Harroll said, according to ClutchPoints. “So honestly, when the altercation happened, when I saw D-Rose walking up on my teammate, that’s when it was time for me step in.

“I really don’t care what people feel about it,” Harrell added. “I don’t care who likes it and who doesn’t. I’m the type of player who plays for his teammates. I play for the guys that are on the court with me. And I feel like, at that point in time, Derrick Rose went after a person who really wasn’t even trying to cause that type of situation.”

Harell finished with  13 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and three steals in the victory over Minnesota.

Wolves’ Derrick Rose Talks Career Night

Published

Minnesota Timberwolves Derrick Rose may have had the “feel good” game of the season when he dropped a career high 50 points in the Wolves home win over the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night that showed Rose return to form.

Rose, who has dealt with a number of injuries since his MVP season several years ago, was emotional following the game.

“I worked my ass off,” Rose said, in a post-game interview with Fox Sports. “I did this for the franchise, the fans, the organization.

“I’m doing everything just to win, and tonight was a hell of a night.”

“He has courage, he has humility and he has character,” Wolves head coach Tom Thibodeau said. “He’s been through a lot of adversity. He’s maybe one of the most mentally tough people I’ve ever come across.”

“He made a lot of plays, made some tough shots,” Jazz coach Quin Snyder said. “We had some breakdowns, a little bit of everything.”

“It still didn’t even hit me yet,” Rose said. “Words can’t explain how I feel right now. It’s been a while.”
