Wolves’ Glen Taylor Not Ready to Give Up on Andrew Wiggins
The Minnesota Timberwolves have had a busy offseason from trying to work out a new deal for Karl-Anthony Towns to having their offer rejected by Jimmy Butler, the offseason has been kind of a roller coaster for the franchise.
Heading into the 2028-2019 season, Minnesota is hoping that Andrew Wiggins can put a poor season behind him and get back to playing to his potential.
Timberwolves team owner Glen Taylor isn’t ready to give up on the young Wiggins.
“I just think you want to take a person and not give up on them when they’re that young, no matter what. I just think you have to be really careful not to give up on him,” Taylor said, during an appearance on 1500 ESPN (h/t theScore’s William Lou).
“You can look at a lot of players, and it took them three or four years to get better, and they keep getting better from the experience and the confidence. I don’t see why Andrew won’t be one of those people because he has such natural ability.”

Wolves Optimistic Believe They Can Sign Jimmy Butler, Karl-Anthony Towns, Smooth Out Issues
The Minnesota Timberwolves have a big task ahead of them as they look to lock up both Jimmy Butler and Karl-Anthony Towns on long-term extensions, and also iron out any underlying issues that may exist.
Minnesota has already taken care of Andrew Wiggins, signing him to a five-year, $150 million deal last season and now they look towards their two biggest superstars.
According to The Athletic’s Jon Krawczyncki, the organization is optimistic it can get deals done for both players and iron out any issues between the two.’
Per the report:
“There is optimism throughout the organization that the two sides will eventually reach agreement, and a belief that the concerns about team chemistry can be smoothed over as time goes on,”
With Butler stating that he is not going to sign an extension this summer, and with rumors swirling that he is eyeing forming a tandem with Kyrie Irving in the Eastern Conference, the Wolves have their work cut out for them, especially considering that they will have to keep their cap in mind when discussing any deals.
