Knicks’ Enes Kanter Leaning Toward Exercising $18.6M Option

New York Knicks center Enes Kanter is reportedly heavily leaning toward exercising his $18.6 million player option for 2018-19, according to ESPN’s Ian Begley.

Per the report, Kanter will continue to survey the market until his Friday deadline but is likely to opt-in barring any unforeseen significant changes in the market.

Kanter has been vocal about his desire to land a long-term deal. Kanter’s opting in really limits what the Knicks can do in free agency this summer.

Kanter averaged 14 points and 11 rebounds last season for New York.

Bucks Waive Shabazz Muhammad

The Milwaukee Bucks have waived veteran swingman Shabazz Muhammad, according to an official team announcement.

Muhammad joined the Bucks last season following the finalization of his buyout from the Minnesota Timberwolves, playing in just 11 games with Milwaukee to close out the regular season and averaging 8.5 ppg during that span.

Muhammad will become an unrestricted free agent if he goes unclaimed on waivers on Saturday
