Wizards’ Shopping 15th Pick, Expiring Deals

The Washington Wizards are reportedly shopping the 15th overall pick in Thursday’s draft as long as any interested team would be willing to take on one of their expiring contracts, according to The Sports Capitol’s Ben Standig.

“The Wizards have five players with expiring contracts, including starters Marcin Gortat and Markieff Morris. Gortat’s $13.56 million salary for the 2018-19 season dwarfs the other expiring deals. The hefty figure counts among the reasons why the 34-year-old center is considered a likely trade piece.”

Gortat may be the more difficult piece to move considering his declining numbers.

Morris would be the more likely piece to be moved as he is owed $8.6M next season and teams would value his motor and his production.

Bucks Waive Shabazz Muhammad

The Milwaukee Bucks have waived veteran swingman Shabazz Muhammad, according to an official team announcement.

Muhammad joined the Bucks last season following the finalization of his buyout from the Minnesota Timberwolves, playing in just 11 games with Milwaukee to close out the regular season and averaging 8.5 ppg during that span.

Muhammad will become an unrestricted free agent if he goes unclaimed on waivers on Saturday
