Orlando Magic big man Nikola Vucevic doesn’t want to go anywhere and is instead looking to land a long-term contract with the team, according to Hoops Hype’s Alex Kennedy.

Vucevic, who has one year and $12.75M left on his deal, is scheduled to hit unrestricted free agency next summer, but would prefer to stay in Orlando.

Despite the team’s struggles, Vucevic believes that they aren’t far away from winning again.

“I believe we aren’t too far away and we can compete very soon,” Vucevic said. “When you win in this league, that’s the best feeling. So that’s what is most important to me. I do believe we can get there, though.”

Vucevic is also happy with the hiring of Steve Clifford, and discussed having dinner with him recently.

“You can tell he knows the game really well. He’s really creative. He’s going to do a really good job of putting our guys in positions to be successful and making us better. Everything we talked about throughout our conversation was very positive.”

Rozier’s decision to decline the contract offer was a decision made by him and his management team.

The New York Knicks are not expected to give Kristaps Porzingis a contract extension before the end of Monday’s deadline, which will make the budding franchise player a restricted free agent next summer, according to ESPN’s Ian Begley.

Porzingis’ season-ending torn ACL and a desire to create as much cap flexibility so they can be major players in next summer’s free agency appear to be the main factors in the team coming to this decision.
