According to Lowry, Simmons offered him an invitation to meet him in the hallway to settle things and Lowry obliged.
“Put it this way: I was back there,” Lowry said of the invitation, according to Michael Grange of Rogers Sportsnet.
Simmons appeared to ask Lowry to “continue their ‘conversation’ in the tunnel” as both players were ejected from the game on Monday at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, according to TSN’s Josh Lewenberg.
When Lowry was asked what led to the heated rift, Lowry simply said; “I don’t know. I guess he thinks he’s somebody.”
Simmons had a different take saying “I just went to the locker room. Nobody was back there. … I don’t know where he’s at”, according to ESPN.
No confrontation between Lowry and Simmons took place despite the reported efforts on the part of Lowry.
Bleacher Report posted a video of the confrontation which shows Simmons pointing towards to hallway as if to tell Lowry to meet him there.
