The Philadelphia 76ers have officially signed forward Robert Covington to a four-year, $62 million extension. With some momentum building with the 76ers “Trusting the process” and the team starting to see results in the win column extending Covington was pretty much a no-brainer because he has seen a nice increase in production with each year that he has been in the league and he has become a very good three-point shooter, shooting a career-high 49.5% behind the arc in the early part of this season. His shooting ability really compliments the skill sets of Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid by giving those two young stars more room to operate.

The 76ers are starting to see some positive results finally having their young players that they have drafted the past few years healthy and with Markelle Fultz set to return soon they should only become deeper and more of an entertaining team to watch. It’s clear that the future is bright in Philadelphia and keeping Covington in the fold should only excite Philly sports fans more than they already are.
