Nuggets Were Closing In On Trade For Eric Bledsoe

Up until the Milwaukee Bucks finalized a trade with the Phoenix Suns for disgruntled guard Eric Bledsoe another team was zeroing in on completing a trade of their own for the impact scorer.

According to Zach Lowe of ESPN, the Denver Nuggets were close on completing a deal with Phoenix that may have netted the Suns Emmanuel Mudiay and a first-round pick.

“We chase every opportunity to improve ourselves,” said Denver GM Tim Connelly, who refused to comment directly on the Bledsoe talks. “We’ve had a lot of excellent players offered to us for our young talent. There’s a fine line between overvaluing your own players and being too aggressive chasing short-term results.”

In the end, Bledsoe landed in Milwaukee who sent Greg Monroe and draft picks back to the Suns in return.

Thomas believes he has nothing to prove, despite the slow movement in his free agency.

“Nah,” Thomas said, according to Tim Bontemps of The Washington Post during USA Basketball’s minicamp in Las Vegas.

“I don’t got nothing to prove. I just got to get healthy. I get healthy, the world knows what I bring to the table. When I averaged 30, they doubted it then. So it doesn’t matter. No matter how high or how low it gets, they’re always going to doubt.”

“I’m just focused on getting healthy, and doing whatever I can to be as healthy as possible and going out there and competing,”
