Celtics Interested In Trade For Suns Greg Monroe

New Phoenix Suns center Greg Monroe, who was acquired from the Milwaukee Bucks in the Eric Bledsoe trade, may want to keep his bags packed as his stay in Phoenix may be short lived.

The Boston Celtics are rumored as a team that could potentially work out a deal with Phoenix for Monroe, according to Chris Mannix of The Vertical.

Although Mannix simply links Boston as a potential trade partner, sources have indicated that Boston is indeed considered the “front runner” for Monroe with Phoenix looking for a young player and/or draft assets.

The Celtics have an $8.4M disabled player exception that they can utilize to lure Monroe, should he work out a buyout with the Suns.

Boston may also be weighing the possibility of messing with team chemistry, especially with the high level that the Celtics have been playing at.
