Former number 1 overall pick Anthony Bennett has signed a non-guaranteed contract with the Phoenix Suns, according to Shams Charania of The Vertical.

Drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2013 NBA Draft, Bennett has been one of the biggest draft busts in recent years and has spent the first few seasons of his once-promising career playing for Cleveland, the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Toronto Raptors and the Brooklyn Nets.

During his last season with Brooklyn, Bennett averaged 5 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.

The training camp invite presents an opportunity for Bennett who is a longshot to make the team and if he did, he would be behind the likes of Dragan Bender, Alan Williams and Marquess Chriss.

Still, Phoenix is kicking the tires to see if Bennett has something of value to add to their roster.
